1/1/2024 0 Comments Duet pc![]() ![]() To test out the boasted 60fps with 1ms of latency I launched an old favorite of mine Fotonica, which is a wireframe parkour-type game with a kicking soundtrack. There are additional gestures added such as a two-finger tap to undo. The palm rejection is also quite natural. And, pressure sensitivity worked right away between the Apple Pencil, Windows Ink, and Adobe Fresco. Pinch-to-Zoom worked on the iPad controlling Windows so well that it felt like it was part of the OS. I launched Adobe Fresco for some drawing and painting and moused over the application window by clicking and dragging the app. The software starts and the iPad is functioning as an additional display for the Windows PC. What’s really interesting here is that you don’t need to use the same Apple ID for Duet as the login on the iPad, meaning you can share devices with your family (and something you cannot do with Apple Sidecar). From there, create a Duet account with your email address or, with a Google, Apple, or Microsoft account. You’ll need to download and install the Duet client on both the iPad as well as the Windows PC. Duet Pro adds Apple Pencil support, as well as higher-resolution rendering. The base tier called Duet Air adds wireless support as well as a remote desktop client for controlling your PC on the road. From there, a subscription is required ranging from $2 to $3 per month. Now, the app is available as a free download from the App Store to run a time-limited trial. In the past, a one-time purchase was required. The pricing for Duet Display has changed recently. New users will be able to try to the product in their workflow, and upgrade to the subscription tiers if they begin to use the product more often or would like more functionality.įor the remainder of the month, we will be offering a discount of 15% for any users that sign up on our website for our new subscription plans here. These subscription tiers allow us to invest in professional-grade performance, reliability, and keep building out new features in the product.Īll existing users who purchased Duet Display as a one-time purchase will continue to have their full access to the wired functionality for personal use going forward. People have been integrating Duet into their workflow, using the product for hours every day multiple times a week, and we are building these offerings for them. We will then offer two upgraded tiers, Duet Air and Duet Pro, for commercial use and expanded functionality. This will allow users to get an idea of how the product works, and integrate into their workflow for occasional use. Starting today, Duet Display will become free to download, and include a free tier for for short periods of time for non-commercial use. However, users have increasingly become confused about the differences, and we want to simplify our offerings going forward. Over the years, we have maintained a dual pricing model, which includes a one-time purchase for personal use and an upgraded Pro tier, that includes features for power users, such as using your device as a drawing tablet and/or using any device as a high performance Remote Desktop or wireless second display. As Duet has become a more sophisticated product targeting professional customers, we are moving our product to a subscription business model. We are excited to announce big changes to our app today. ![]()
