![]() Basically the definition of “mood piece.” Watch one episode a week, take time to process it, think about it, love it and hate it all at once. As others have said, it is agonizingly slow. Had it been a weekly release on HBO, it probably would have garnered more attention. ![]() Whatever you do, this is not a show designed for binge culture. I say give it a chance at least.Ī little late to the party, but here is my two cents: don’t binge it. You'll only really know if it's your thing by watching it. I once saw a film student write that even though they disliked the show it was something that should be shown and taught about at film school as from a technical side it's a master piece. If that makes any sense.Įven for those that dislike it no-one can deny it's a beautifully looking show. ![]() It makes the violence seem more violent when it gets to it. There isn't really huge amount of violence in this but when it comes, it comes hard and fast because of the long build ups. You really have to appreciate the feeling the show is trying to give you, the slow build ups and the way every episode is about tension building and keeping you in suspense. For me Too Old to Die young was the best tv of 2019, but I know I'm very much in the minority here. Only God forgives and Neon Demon are fantastic.
